Plan the dive. Run the line. Enter, navigate, and exit with calm control.

The RAID Advanced Wreck Diver course teaches you to plan and execute safe wreck penetrations up to 40 linear meters on a continuous guideline.

Over 4 days, you'll learn to assess the layout, choose the right equipment, lay clean tie-offs, manage light and silt, and communicate as a team.

Each step is coached at your own pace, turning procedures into habit before you go inside and building solid foundations for more advanced diving.

What the Advanced Wreck Course Looks Like
Day 1 — Orientation

You'll meet your instructor at 4pm for a quick intro, set up your RAID eLearning, review your experience and goals, and walk through the plan for the coming days.

Day 2 — Theory, Dry Skills & Pool

We'll run an equipment workshop covering lights, reels, tie-offs, and emergency protocols. In the pool you'll practice line handling, propulsion, silt control, and simple team signals until the movements feel tidy and repeatable.

Day 3 — First Ocean Dives

In the morning you'll complete quizzes and the final exam. In the afternoon we head out on the boat for your first dives where you'll practice primary and secondary tie-offs, wraps, and lost-line drills.

Day 4 — Final Ocean Dives

We'll start with a plan review to lock in roles and limits. In the afternoon you'll lead two planned penetrations (within course limits), lay and manage the line smoothly, and complete the remaining skill evaluations. We'll finish with a debrief at the shop and process your certification.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Will we go inside the wreck?
Yes, you'll make limited wreck penetrations on a continuous guideline, up to 40 linear meters, within clear course limits.
  • Do I need my own reel and lights?
No, you don't need your own reel or lights for the advanced wreck course. We provide training reels and primary/backup lights. If you have your own, bring them — we'll help you set them up correctly.
  • Is this still recreational diving?
Yes. Advanced Wreck is taught within recreational limits using overhead-style procedures, clear turn points, and distance rules.
  • Can I bring a camera inside the wreck?
No, bringing a camera is not allowed during training dives.
  • What if conditions aren't ideal?
We choose wreck sites for the day's conditions and skills. If a site isn't right, we switch — safety and learning always come first.
  • Do I need Nitrox and a deep certification to start the advanced wreck course?
Yes. You'll need Nitrox and Deep 40 (or equivalent), plus 25 logged hours underwater before starting the course.
