Here at Hydronauts Diving Resort, we adjust the refresher to what you remember, and what you've forgotten — so you leave feeling confident and ready for the ocean.

What the Refresher Looks Like
Step 1 — Theory & Equipment Workshop

Meet your instructor for a short review of key scuba principles, safety checks, and gear setup. We'll answer questions and tailor the session to your certification level and what you want to brush up on.

Step 2 — Pool Training

Head to our training pool to refresh buoyancy, basic scuba skills, air sharing, and safety procedures. We go at your pace and focus on the skills that matter to you.

Step 3 — Book Your Next Adventure

Feeling good? Perfect. Do your refresher in the morning and head out for fun dives in the afternoon with one of our fun dive packages. Or, if you're ready to keep learning, continue your education with a course like the Explorer 30.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Do I really need a Scuba Refresher?

If it's been 12 months or more since your last dive, a refresher is strongly recommended. It helps you rebuild confidence, brush up on skills, and enjoy your dives more.

At Hydronauts, it's also part of our safety policy: after 12 months out of the water, a refresher is required before joining fun dives or courses. This way, we make sure you, your buddy, and your instructor can dive safely together.

  • How long does the scuba refresher take?
Your refresher takes around 2–3 hours, depending on how much you want to review.
  • Can I join fun dives the same day I do my refresher?
Absolutely. You can do your refresher in the morning and start your fun dive package in the afternoon.
  • What will I practice in the pool?
Buoyancy control, mask and regulator skills, air sharing, safety checks, and safe ascents — plus anything specific you'd like to practice.
  • What do I need to bring for my scuba refresher?
We provide all the dive gear you'll need. Bring swimwear and water to stay hydrated.
  • Is this a certification course?
No, the Scuba Refresher is not a certification. It's a skills-focused session designed to rebuild your confidence and make sure you're ready to dive safely again. To join a refresher, you already need to hold a scuba certification, such as Open Water 20 or equivalent.
  • Is the scuba refresher mandatory?
Yes, at Hydronauts, a Scuba Refresher is mandatory if it's been more than 12 months since your last dive. This isn't just about your own confidence, it's about keeping you, your buddy, and your instructor safe in the water. The refresher makes sure your skills and safety protocols are up to date before joining fun dives or courses.
